Boost to Efficiency and Consumer Services
The Chief Minister emphasized that the new headquarters will enhance efficiency, strengthen coordination among the three power companies, and provide all consumer-related services under one roof. He said the project reflects the state’s determination to combine development with sensitivity, ensuring historic results for citizens.
Chhattisgarh’s Power Growth Journey
Tracing the state’s progress, Mr. Sai recalled that in 2000, Chhattisgarh had a production capacity of only 1,400 MW. Today, it has reached 30,000 MW, supported by recent developments, including the inauguration of a 1,320 MW plant by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. He credited this growth to the trust, hard work, and participation of the people of Chhattisgarh.
Insights from Global Exposure
Sharing his experience from a recent visit to Japan and South Korea, Mr. Sai said that Chhattisgarh is steadily moving towards world-class infrastructure and modern work culture. The joint headquarters project is seen as a milestone in this global journey, and he directed officials to complete construction with quality and timeliness so that it becomes a new identity for the state’s energy sector.
Massive Investments in Power Sector
Highlighting future prospects, the Chief Minister revealed that under the New Industrial Policy, the state has signed MoUs worth nearly Rs. 3 lakh crore in the power sector. This is expected to add 30,000 MW of power generation capacity in the coming years. He assured that this achievement will ensure uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply in Chhattisgarh while also meeting the energy needs of neighboring states.
Commitment to Renewable Energy
Mr. Sai also underlined the rapid implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, which is helping Chhattisgarh provide free electricity to citizens. He added that even remote areas are now witnessing the benefits of clean energy, marking a major step in inclusive and sustainable development.
