Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated the state government’s unwavering focus on tribal development, emphasizing that under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, schemes like Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Yojana and PM Janman Yojana are transforming tribal-dominated villages. With a provision of Rs. 80,000 crore, the government aims to bridge developmental gaps and ensure inclusive progress.
Historic Nuakhai Milan Highlights Tribal Cultural Pride
Speaking at the Nuakhai Milan of the Dhurwa Samaj at the Forest School campus in Jagdalpur, Mr. Sai underlined the importance of preserving cultural heritage while pushing forward with modern development. The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly built “Olekh” community hall, which he described as a vital space for social unity and local capacity-building.
Infrastructure Support for Dhurwa Samaj
On this occasion, Mr. Sai announced Rs. 75 lakh for the construction of five community domes at various locations, each dome costing Rs. 15 lakh. He also assured that development proposals from 36 gram panchayats, submitted by local sarpanches, would receive prompt government approval, underlining the government’s commitment to community-led planning.
Rituals and Symbolic Inauguration at Goddess Danteshwari Gudi
Mr. Sai began his address by performing rituals at a symbolic gudi dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari, revered as the presiding deity of Bastar. Paying tribute to tribal hero Shaheed Gundadhur, he reaffirmed the government’s role in upholding traditions that celebrate nature, harvest, and communal harmony.
Honoring Legacy of Tribal-Centric Governance
Recalling the contributions of former Prime Minister Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mr. Sai praised his visionary move to establish the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee year, the state is also observing Atal Nirman Varsh, dedicated to strengthening foundations of tribal empowerment.
Boosting Maoist-Affected Region Development Through Niyad Nellanar Yojana
Mr. Sai emphasized that in Maoist-affected areas like Bastar, the government is actively implementing the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, ensuring that roads, electricity, housing, drinking water, and other essential infrastructure reach every village. Special focus has also been given to Special Tribal Area Development Authorities in Bastar and Surguja, initially introduced by former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.
Unity and Culture Inspire Youth, Say Leaders
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma praised the Dhurwa Samaj for its cohesive efforts and said that preserving ancestral traditions will keep the community’s identity alive for future generations. Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, MP Mr. Mahesh Kashyap, and MLA Ms. Kiran Dev also lauded the event’s significance.
Traditional Welcome to the Chief Minister and Dignitaries
The community extended a warm welcome to Mr. Sai with a traditional chhatri, Dhurwa tuwal, koti, and bow and arrows—symbolic of the rich Bastar tribal culture.
