Under the leadership of CM Hemant Soren, Jharkhand’s Urban Development and Tourism Minister, Mr. Sudibya Kumar Sonu, inaugurated a newly constructed multi-purpose park at Jamukhri in Chandwara block of Koderma district on Wednesday. The park, strategically located on the Ranchi-Patna NH-20, offers a blend of natural beauty and modern amenities, making it a promising addition to the state’s tourism infrastructure.
A Blend of Nature and Recreation
The park is situated with direct access to the national highway on one side, while on the other side lies the scenic lake of Tilaiya Dam. Visitors can enjoy water adventure sports, a lake restaurant, and a dedicated kids’ zone. Facilities for sitting, walking, and recreational activities have also been designed to cater to families and tourists alike.
Government’s Vision for Tourism Growth
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Sonu said, “The Tilaiya Dam area is full of natural beauty and immense possibilities of tourism. This park and water adventure facilities will not only benefit the local people, but this area will emerge as a major attraction on the tourism map of Jharkhand.”
Administrative Support for Tourism Development
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rituraj, who was present on the occasion, briefed the Minister about the ongoing schemes and future plans to enhance tourism in the Tilaiya Dam region. The initiative is expected to generate new employment opportunities, promote local entrepreneurship, and attract both domestic and interstate visitors.
Boost to Local Economy and Tourism Map
The new multi-purpose park aligns with Jharkhand government’s efforts to expand tourism infrastructure. By leveraging the natural appeal of Tilaiya Dam and improving facilities, the project aims to establish Koderma as a key stop on Jharkhand’s tourism circuit while uplifting the local economy through tourism-driven growth.
