The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has officially extended the deadline for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2025, providing a much-needed opportunity for aspirants aiming for Assistant Professor posts and PhD admissions. Candidates can now apply online until 11:45 pm on October 30, 2025, via the official JPSC website at jpsc.gov.in.

Revised Dates at a Glance

  • Last date to apply online: October 30, 2025 (11:45 pm)
  • Last date to submit application fee: October 31, 2025 (till 5:00 pm)
  • Application correction window: November 1 to November 3, 2025 (from 5:00 pm onward)

The extension was announced in response to multiple requests from candidates who were unable to meet the earlier deadline of October 6, 2025.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria Explained

The JET 2025 is open to a wide range of candidates with the following eligibility conditions:

  • A postgraduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 55% marks.
  • Relaxation to 50% for candidates belonging to BC 1, BC 2, SC, ST, and PWD categories.
  • Final-year postgraduates are also eligible to apply.
  • No upper age limit for applying for Assistant Professor posts or PhD admission.

Fee Structure Based on Categories

The application fee for JET 2025 must be paid online only and is categorized as follows:

  • Rs. 575 for General (Unreserved) candidates
  • Rs. 300 for BC 1, BC 2, and EWS categories
  • Rs. 150 for SC, ST, PWD, and third-gender candidates

Step-by-Step Guide to Apply

Candidates are advised to follow these steps for successful registration:

  1. Visit jpsc.gov.in
  2. Click on the JET 2025 online application link
  3. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR)
  4. Fill in all required information
  5. Submit the prescribed application fee
  6. Take a printout of the submitted form for future reference

JET Exam Pattern – Know What to Expect

Candidates will appear for two objective-type papers:

  • Paper 1: 50 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Paper 2: 100 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Each correct answer carries 2 marks
  • Total duration of the exam: 180 minutes

This exam plays a crucial role in certifying candidates’ eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professors in state universities and for pursuing doctoral research through PhD programs.
