Kerala Govt to Consider Granting Addl Benefits to Retd Bureaucrats

This was in response to an RTI filed by the IAS Association
Indian Masterminds Stories

In response to an RTI filed by the IAS Association, the Pinarayi Vijayan government in Kerala has written that it would “examine” their demands for additional benefits to be granted to them besides their pension.

The retired IAS officers have raised this demand after it was revealed to them that the retiring Chief Justices and judges of the Kerala High Court were eligible for additional benefits of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 20,000 (respectively) per month in addition to their pension. The IAS Association believes that retired bureaucrats must also be included in this mechanism and be granted similar additional benefits.

In its response to the RTI, the Government of Kerala further divulged that it does not have data regarding how many retired IAS personnel were genuinely eligible for the benefits.
