Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), one of India’s leading defence shipyards, has been awarded the prestigious “Digital Transformation Excellence” Award at the 10th Governance Now PSU IT Awards, held in the national capital on Thursday.
The award, which honours PSUs for outstanding contributions in digital innovation, was received by Cdr Harish Kumar, IN (Retd.), General Manager (RO-Delhi), GRSE, on behalf of the organisation. The honour was presented by Kailash Nath Adhikari, Managing Director of Governance Now, in the presence of top government officials, industry leaders, and dignitaries.
This is the second consecutive win for GRSE at the Governance Now awards. In 2024, the shipyard was recognised for the “Best Use of Emerging Technologies,” underlining its commitment to digital progress.

The latest recognition comes as a testament to GRSE’s determined push toward digitalisation across its business verticals. From smart infrastructure to automation and advanced IT frameworks, the company’s tech-driven initiatives are closely aligned with the Government of India’s Digital India vision.
Speaking on the occasion, senior officials reiterated GRSE’s dedication to building a future-ready, digitally empowered workforce that can meet the evolving needs of India’s defence and maritime sectors.
