Kolkata/New Delhi: In a proud moment for Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE), two of its senior women officers have been recognised for their remarkable contributions to the public sector and women’s leadership. They were honoured with the prestigious Indian PSU Nari Shakti Samman Awards 2025, held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, on October 15, 2025.
Celebrating Excellence in Public Sector Leadership
The ceremony, which recognised women leaders across India’s Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), was graced by Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Honourable Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, who presented the awards to the distinguished recipients.
Aparajita Ghosh, General Manager (Finance), received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding professional journey and invaluable contribution to the financial excellence of GRSE. Swagata Sen Roy, Additional General Manager (Corporate Communication), was conferred with the Women Empowerment Advocate Award for her exemplary work in communications and advocacy for women’s leadership within the organization.
Aparajita Ghosh: Strengthening GRSE’s Financial Framework
With over 33 years of experience in finance and strategic management, Aparajita Ghosh has been a driving force behind GRSE’s fiscal discipline and growth. Joining the organization in 2014, she steadily rose through the ranks to head the Finance Department in 2021.
Under her stewardship, the finance team successfully streamlined key operational and financial processes and supported major strategic projects. Notably, she played a vital role in the negotiation of the high-value Next Generation Corvette contract, reinforcing GRSE’s financial resilience and long-term growth. Her leadership reflects the company’s commitment to integrity, accountability, and innovation in public sector management.
Swagata Sen Roy: Championing Corporate Communication and Women Empowerment
Swagata Sen Roy, who joined GRSE in 2012, has been instrumental in enhancing the shipyard’s brand visibility and communication strategy. As Head of Corporate Communication, she has led several impactful initiatives that effectively showcase GRSE’s achievements, technological advancements, and contributions to India’s maritime strength.
Beyond her professional role, Sen Roy actively champions women’s empowerment initiatives. Through her active involvement in the Women in Public Sector (WIPS) forum, she continues to mentor and inspire women professionals across PSUs, promoting inclusivity, equality, and leadership development.
