Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 20th Grand Property Show-Olympiad, organized by CREDAI Ahmedabad in collaboration with the Gujarat Institute of Housing and Estate Developers (GIHED), at GMDC Grounds, Ahmedabad, on Thursday. The three-day property show is scheduled from January 9 to 11, 2026. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also released the film “Aa Ahmedabadno Dasko Che” and watched its screening. Cabinet Minister for Forests and Environment, Arjun Modhwadia, was also present at the event.
Historic Significance and Cultural Pride
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhupendra Patel described the day as historic for both the state and the nation. He highlighted the launch of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which symbolizes India’s unwavering faith, culture, and pride.
He emphasized that the Somnath Temple is not only a religious site but also a symbol of India’s self-respect and confidence. Despite repeated attempts in history to weaken the nation’s culture, India has always emerged stronger and established a global identity. The Chief Minister credited India’s current global progress to the visionary and strong leadership of the Prime Minister.
He further noted that the Prime Minister’s governance focuses on both development and heritage preservation, underscoring that temples are not just centers of devotion but reflect the enduring strength of India’s culture. The CM added that individuals and institutions that uphold these values overcome challenges and achieve continuous progress.
Housing and Urban Development Initiatives
Speaking on social development, the Chief Minister praised the Prime Minister’s initiatives, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, approved in the very first cabinet meeting to provide permanent housing for the poor and general public. He stated that modern, well-equipped housing has significantly enhanced the comfort and quality of life for citizens.
Regarding Ahmedabad’s future, CM Patel highlighted that the city is poised for rapid growth in the coming decade. Expansion in real estate, infrastructure, and industrial sectors will further strengthen the state’s economy, and the government takes pride in Ahmedabad and Gujarat’s accelerating development trajectory.
Focus on Environmental Sustainability
CM Patel also stressed the importance of environmental conservation, urging immediate implementation of measures such as rainwater harvesting, groundwater conservation, and energy efficiency to address global warming challenges. He emphasized that development alongside environmental protection is the path to a stronger and sustainable India.
He highlighted Gujarat’s role under the Prime Minister’s leadership in realizing the vision of a developed Gujarat contributing to a developed India, assuring that the state government is committed to this goal.

The inauguration was attended by Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, CREDAI National President Shekhar Patel, GIHED officials Alapbhai Patel and others, as well as prominent real estate developers, investors, and a large number of residents of Ahmedabad.
