CM Bhupendra Patel conducted an intensive review of road and bridge repair operations across Gujarat using the CM Dashboard’s video wall. The review focused on damage caused by heavy monsoon rains and the swift restoration of roads at all levels—from national and state highways to urban and rural roads.
Strict Implementation of Pre-Monsoon Repair Guidelines
Mr. Patel instructed that repair orders issued after pre-monsoon inspections of roads, bridges, and culverts must be strictly followed without delay or negligence. He emphasized the need for a proactive approach to ensure rapid traffic restoration and the timely redressal of citizen complaints.

All Complaints Must Be Addressed Promptly
The Chief Minister stressed that no citizen complaint should go unresolved. He directed officials to actively monitor inputs received from multiple channels, including:
- Roads and Buildings Department’s 24×7 Control Room
- ‘GujMarg’ mobile app
- Municipal mobile apps and websites
- WhatsApp channels
- City Civic Centres
- Command & Control Centres
- Helpline numbers
Urban Complaint Resolution Mechanism
Urban Development Principal Secretary Mr. M. Thennarasan reported that out of 15,424 complaints from metropolitan cities, 12,023 have already been resolved. He outlined the framework in place to ensure prompt response across urban areas.
‘GujMarg’ App Sees 164% Surge in Users
According to Roads and Buildings Secretary Mr. P.R. Patelia, 3,632 complaints were received via the ‘GujMarg’ app, of which 99.66% have been resolved. Under the CM’s direct guidance, awareness about the app has led to a 164% surge in users, growing from 10,767 to 28,449 in just three days.
Field Inspections and Quality Monitoring Ordered
Mr. Patel directed officers, district administrations, and local bodies to conduct regular field visits to verify the quality and progress of repair work. He insisted on strict quality checks for bridges under repair and safe traffic diversions where necessary.
Material Readiness and Resource Allocation
The CM instructed officials to stock essential repair materials—including gravel, bitumen, machinery, and white-topping supplies—at the city, district, and municipal levels. Additional manpower should be deployed on rain-free days to expedite work.
NHAI Briefs CM on National Highway Repairs
NHAI officials informed the CM that repair work on 33.78 km of National Highways is underway and will be completed by July 30. Mr. Patel directed NHAI officers to accelerate the process, especially on stretches affecting interstate traffic. The NHAI also promoted the ‘RajmargYatra’ app and 1033 helpline for citizens to report issues on National Highways.
Statewide Progress in Road Repairs
As per the review, 47% of patchwork and over 63% of pothole-filling across damaged roads in Gujarat has been completed. Municipal Corporations have also reported major progress in their respective jurisdictions.
