New Delhi: Gujarat Gas Limited has announced a key leadership change with the appointment of Avantika Singh Aulakh, IAS, as its new Managing Director, replacing Mr. Milind Torawane, IAS. The transition follows a broader administrative reshuffle by the Government of Gujarat, with Torawane moving to the Education Department as Principal Secretary.
The company informed stock exchanges that the appointment has been made pursuant to a government notification and that necessary formalities will be completed after receiving approval from the competent authority.
Government Notification Drives Leadership Transition
The change in leadership has been implemented through Government of Gujarat Notification No. AIS/35.2025/56/G. Under the notification, Mr. Milind Torawane, IAS (DIN: 03632394), has been transferred from his role as Managing Director of Gujarat Gas Limited to serve as Principal Secretary, Education Department, overseeing Primary and Secondary Education, with effect until further orders.
Simultaneously, Avantika Singh Aulakh, IAS (DIN: 07549438), a 2003-batch officer, has been appointed as Additional Director and Managing Director of Gujarat Gas Limited, with effect from December 24, 2025.

Extensive Administrative and Energy Sector Experience
Avantika Singh Aulakh brings over two decades of experience in the Indian Administrative Service, having held several critical positions in the Government of Gujarat. She has served as District Collector in major districts including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Anand, earning recognition for administrative excellence.
She was awarded the Best District Collector title by the Gujarat Government for Vadodara district (2015–16) and Bharuch district (2012–13). Her prior roles also include District Development Officer in Anand and Gandhinagar, Deputy Secretary in the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, and Director of Petroleum in the state government.
In addition, she has held leadership roles at key state-run infrastructure and industrial bodies such as the Gujarat Maritime Board, Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board, Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation, and Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited.
Strategic Alignment with State Energy Policy
The appointment reinforces the Government of Gujarat’s promoter oversight in Gujarat Gas Limited and is seen as a strategic move to align the company’s governance with the state’s broader energy, infrastructure, and industrial development objectives.
The company has confirmed that Aulakh is not debarred by any regulatory authority and does not have any familial relationship with existing directors on the board, ensuring compliance with corporate governance norms.
Regulatory Disclosure and Compliance
Gujarat Gas Limited stated that the disclosure has been made in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The company further noted that:
- All necessary formalities related to the appointment will be completed in due course
- Updates will be provided after approval from the competent authority
- The appointment process will follow all applicable regulatory guidelines
