Gandhinagar: In a major move to strengthen clean energy usage, the government of Gujarat has decided to provide immediate Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to commercial and institutional establishments in areas where the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network is available.
The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting held in Gandhinagar on Friday, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Instant PNG Connections for Hotels, Restaurants and Institutions
During the meeting, CM Bhupendra Patel directed officials that hotels, restaurants, educational institutions, and social or religious organizations applying for new PNG connections should receive them immediately on demand in areas covered by the CGD pipeline network.
This move is expected to:

- Encourage the use of clean and environmentally friendly fuel
- Reduce dependence on conventional fuels like LPG cylinders
The decision will particularly benefit businesses operating in urban areas where the PNG infrastructure is already in place.
