NALCO Reports Record-Breaking FY26 Performance with Highest-Ever Production and Sales Across All Segments

New Delhi / Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has announced a historic performance for FY 2025–26, achieving its highest-ever production and sales across multiple operational segments. The record performance reflects efficient execution, enhanced operational capabilities, and sustained demand across key domestic and international markets.

Record Production Achievements in FY26

NALCO demonstrated exceptional operational excellence across its integrated business, achieving unprecedented output in bauxite, alumina, aluminium, power, and coal. Key production highlights include:

  • 77.01 lakh tonnes of bauxite excavation
  • 77.07 lakh tonnes of bauxite transportation
  • 23.00 lakh tonnes of alumina hydrate
  • 22.75 lakh tonnes of calcined alumina
  • 4.72 lakh tonnes of aluminium cast metal
  • 6,953 MU of net power generation
  • 40 lakh tonnes of coal production

The integrated production across mining, refining, smelting, and power generation underscores NALCO’s strength as a fully integrated aluminium and alumina company.

Historic Sales Performance

Alongside production milestones, NALCO achieved record sales across all major segments, reflecting strong domestic and international market positioning.

  • Total alumina sales: 14.46 lakh tonnes
  • Domestic alumina sales: 1.38 lakh tonnes
  • Aluminium metal sales: 4.74 lakh tonnes
  • Domestic aluminium metal sales: 4.61 lakh tonnes

The company’s total alumina sales are projected to reach 1.4 million tonnes, highlighting robust demand for value-added products like calcined alumina.

Year-on-Year Growth Momentum

NALCO reported strong growth across multiple operational areas compared to FY25:

  • Bauxite transportation: +6.13%
  • Calcined alumina production: +11.16%
  • Aluminium cast metal production: +2.61%
  • Total alumina sales: +30.74%
  • Total aluminium sales: +2.82%

These figures reflect the company’s consistent focus on operational excellence, strategic capacity utilization, and market responsiveness.

Leadership Vision and Strategic Direction

Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NALCO, praised the company’s workforce and stakeholders during the Annual Business Plan strategic meet at Angul. Singh highlighted that the achievements reflect:

  • Emphasis on the 3Ps – Plant Efficiency, People Efficiency, and Process Efficiency
  • Focus on digital transformation and green initiatives for sustainable growth

Singh also acknowledged the support of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the cooperation of the Government of Odisha in achieving these milestones.
