Hareshbhai Dudhat, a senior police officer from Gujarat, has made history by becoming the first IPS officer from the state to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Dudhat, who currently serves in the State Intelligence Bureau, completed the challenging climb in Tanzania, reaching an altitude of 17,000 feet.
During the climb, Dudhat proudly hoisted both the Indian and Gujarat Police flags at the summit. An avid mountaineer and trekker, Dudhat has previously attempted to summit Mount Everest in 2024, although he could not progress beyond the base camp. He has also completed the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra twice.
Reflecting on his achievement, Dudhat shared, “I had decided earlier that on the 76th Republic Day of India, I would hoist the national flag on Mount Kilimanjaro.” Despite facing significant challenges, including snowfall during the final 12 hours, Dudhat successfully reached the summit.
Now, Dudhat has set his sights on conquering Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe. His remarkable accomplishment has not only brought pride to the Gujarat Police but has also inspired fellow officers.
