Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) is set to celebrate a significant milestone with its inaugural convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 19th July, at 5:00 PM. The event will take place at the prestigious Aura Auditorium of Gujarat National Law University, marking the first time the university will formally honor its graduates.
Chief Minister to Grace the Occasion as Chief Guest
The convocation will be graced by the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who will deliver the convocation address and preside over the awarding of degrees and honors. As the chief guest, Patel will also present gold medals to 13 exceptional students, recognizing their exemplary academic achievements. Notably, 8 of these gold medal recipients are female students, highlighting the university’s commitment to promoting gender equality and academic excellence.
Degrees to Be Awarded to 250 Graduates from LLM and MBA Programs
This landmark ceremony will witness the awarding of degrees to a total of 250 students. Among them, 188 students will receive their degrees in the LLM (Master of Laws) program, while 62 students will graduate from the MBA (Master of Business Administration) stream. This diverse cohort reflects the university’s focus on developing expertise in maritime law and business management, critical areas for the growth of India’s maritime sector.
University Leadership to Administer Oath and Address Graduates
Pankaj Joshi, President of Gujarat Maritime University and Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, will officiate the ceremony by administering the oath to the graduating students. In addition, he will deliver an address from the Chair, inspiring graduates to contribute meaningfully to the maritime industry and the broader economy.
