In a recent administrative reshuffle in Gujarat, Mihir Patel, IAS (2015) and currently the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation, has been appointed as the new Collector of Banaskantha district. Patel replaces Varunkumar Bharanwal, IAS (2014), who has been transferred to a new role.
Varunkumar Bharanwal’s services have been reassigned to the Government of India, where he will serve as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. Bharanwal’s new position will be effective for a period of four years or until his tenure as OSD concludes.
Mihir Patel’s appointment as Collector of Banaskantha is expected to bring a fresh perspective and administrative acumen to the district. His previous role as Deputy Municipal Commissioner in Amdavad Municipal Corporation involved significant responsibilities, and his experience is anticipated to benefit Banaskantha’s administration and development projects.
