Navsari: In his first visit to Navsari after its elevation from a Nagar Palika to a Municipal Corporation, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday unveiled development projects worth ₹475 crore, marking a major boost to the city’s urban infrastructure. The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Navsari Bus Port, the 13th out of 15 modern bus ports planned across Gujarat under the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Navsari’s Municipal Upgrade Brings Bigger Budget, Faster Development
Addressing a public gathering at the Navsari Town Hall, CM Patel said the city’s upgradation had significantly expanded its developmental capacity.
“When Navsari was a Nagar Palika, the annual budget was around ₹150 crore. Today, as a Municipal Corporation, the annual budget has increased to nearly ₹850 crore,” he said. Patel added that while the geographical area remains unchanged, the expanded financial resources will enable “all-round development” in the coming years.
Statewide Development Push Worth ₹2,320 Crore
CM Patel highlighted that during his three-day tour across Rajkot, Kutch, Jamnagar and Navsari, he inaugurated projects worth ₹2,320 crore. He said these investments reflect the state government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens across Gujarat.
He also reassured residents that the flow of funds from both state and central governments would continue steadily to support Navsari’s long-term growth.
13th Bus Port Inaugurated Under PPP Model
Emphasizing the state’s plan to modernize public transport infrastructure, CM Patel said Navsari now hosts the 13th world-class bus port out of a targeted 15.
Built under the PPP model, the new bus port includes:
- Banquet halls
- Multiplex cinema halls
- Restaurants and food courts
- Shopping spaces
Patel said the objective is to offer citizens a “modern and elegant transport experience.”
Recognition for Navsari’s Cleanliness and Water Conservation Efforts
The Chief Minister praised the work of Navsari MP and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil, noting his contributions to the Catch the Rain initiative. Under the programme, Navsari secured 7th position in the Western Zone, receiving national recognition.
The city also ranked among the top 10 cities in Gujarat and 41 cities across India in the annual Swachh Survekshan cleanliness survey — another achievement Patel highlighted while congratulating the citizens.
A Transformational Phase for Navsari
With major infrastructure projects underway and increased budgetary resources, Navsari is poised for rapid urban transformation. The new Municipal Corporation status, along with continuous financial support from the state and centre, is expected to accelerate development in transport, public amenities, and civic services.
CM Patel’s visit marks a crucial milestone as Navsari steps into a new phase of growth, modernisation, and recognition on both state and national platforms.
