Gandhinagar: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) hosted the National Mobility Awards and Summit 2025 at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, under the theme “Accelerating Future Mobility: Green, Integrated and Digitally Driven.” The summit showcased Gujarat’s role as a pioneer in sustainable, citizen-focused public transport in India.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the one-day summit, guided by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Transport Harsh Sanghavi, brought together policymakers, transport experts, and industry leaders to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in mobility.
Sustainable Transport Initiatives
R.C. Meena, Principal Secretary of the Ports and Transport Department, highlighted that GSRTC currently transports over 27 lakh passengers daily, while simultaneously prioritizing eco-friendly solutions such as electric and CNG buses to reduce environmental impact.

Passenger-Centric Innovations
M. Nagarajan, Managing Director of GSRTC, emphasized the importance of comfort, safety, and seamless multimodal connectivity for passengers. Discussions also included asset monetization, non-fare revenue streams, and future-oriented mobility models.
A major highlight was the signing of an MoU between GSRTC and the State Bank of India (SBI) to enhance financial stability and drive sustainable transport solutions. SBI noted that its green financing has surpassed ₹63,000 crore, and the partnership with GSRTC will further advance India’s clean mobility initiatives.

Awards and Industry Participation
The summit featured a special edition of E-Governance Magazine highlighting Gujarat’s green transport programs. Leading companies such as Tata Motors, Charge Zone, JSL, AMNEX, and SBI participated. The National Mobility Awards 2025 recognized outstanding contributions to public and private transport services.
Discussions also focused on EV charging infrastructure, AI-powered fleet management, digital ticketing, safety, and revenue diversification.
With these initiatives, GSRTC is strengthening its commitment to eco-friendly, digitally enabled, and citizen-focused transport, reinforcing Gujarat’s position as a leader in India’s mobility revolution.
