Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has announced that its Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Dr. DK Sunil, will continue to hold additional charge as Director (Engineering and R&D) for another month. The decision was approved by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
In an exchange filing dated April 8, HAL stated that the Ministry of Defence had conveyed its approval through a communication dated April 7, 2025. According to the notification, Dr. Sunil will continue in the additional role from April 9, 2025, to May 8, 2025, or until a regular appointment is made, or further orders are issued—whichever comes first.
Dr. Sunil has been associated with HAL for nearly 37 years, having joined as a Management Trainee in 1987. Over the years, he has made significant contributions in areas such as design, production, quality enhancement, and customer support.
Before taking over as CMD, Dr. Sunil had been serving as Director (Engineering and R&D) since September 29, 2022.
