Chandigarh: In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Nayab Singh Saini-led Haryana government has issued fresh transfer and posting orders for two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, impacting key positions in the state’s power sector and administrative machinery.
Ashok Garg Gets Additional Charge of DHBVN
2006 batch IAS officer Ashok Garg, currently serving as Commissioner of Hisar Division and CEO of Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority, has been given additional charge of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN). The power utility is responsible for electricity distribution in southern parts of Haryana.
Ashok Kumar Appointed MD of HVPNL
In another key appointment, 2009 batch IAS officer Ashok Kumar has been posted as the new Managing Director (MD) of Dakshin Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL).
HVPNL is the nodal transmission agency for electricity across Haryana, and Kumar’s appointment comes at a crucial time when the state is focusing on improving power transmission infrastructure and reliability.
Part of Routine Administrative Realignment
The reshuffle is being seen as a routine administrative exercise aimed at strengthening governance and operational efficiency in the power sector. Both DHBVN and HVPNL play critical roles in maintaining the state’s energy supply chain, particularly during peak summer demand.
