MP Cabinet Clears Women Empowerment Drive, Agriculture Boost and Welfare Schemes in Major Policy Decisions

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, approved a series of major decisions covering women empowerment, agriculture, public works, nutrition schemes, and rural development. The decisions were announced by Health State Minister Dr. Narendra Shivaji Patel after the cabinet meeting.

The meeting also saw the state government expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for key agricultural subsidy support and national-level policy decisions.

Nari Shakti Vandan Fortnight to Promote Women Empowerment

The Cabinet approved the observance of “Nari Shakti Vandan Pakhwada”, during which multiple programmes focused on women empowerment will be organised across the state.

Minister Narendra Shivaji Patel said that the initiative will highlight women’s contributions and strengthen awareness around government schemes dedicated to their welfare.

Cabinet Thanks PM Modi for Fertilizer Subsidy Support

The Cabinet expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving enhanced support under the Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) scheme.

Officials noted that the subsidy amount has increased by more than ₹417 crore compared to the previous cycle, providing significant relief to farmers and strengthening agricultural input support.

The Cabinet also discussed measures to make agriculture more profitable under the “Uttam Krishi Mahotsav” initiative.

Midwasa Irrigation Project and Agricultural Development Approved

Key approvals were granted for irrigation expansion, including the Midwasa Irrigation Project, aimed at increasing irrigated farmland and improving agricultural productivity in rural areas.

The government also reviewed strategies to make farming more sustainable and economically viable for farmers across the state.

Rise in Milk Production Highlighted in Cabinet

A major highlight of the meeting was the growth in milk production in Madhya Pradesh.

Officials reported that milk production has increased from 9.96 lakh litres to 12.46 lakh litres, reflecting significant progress in the dairy sector and rural livelihoods.

The Cabinet discussed further strengthening dairy infrastructure and supporting livestock-based income sources.

Focus on Nutrition, Rural Welfare and PDS Schemes

The Cabinet also approved several welfare and nutrition-related programmes, including schemes aimed at improving child nutrition and food distribution systems.

These initiatives are designed to strengthen public welfare delivery and ensure better nutritional outcomes in rural and tribal regions.

Anti-Naxal Efforts and Tribal Development Initiatives

The Cabinet reviewed anti-Naxal operations and appreciated the efforts of the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister for national security initiatives.

It was also announced that tribal festivals will be organised in Naxal-affected regions, aimed at promoting cultural engagement and social integration.

Infrastructure and Public Works Approvals

Several public works and infrastructure projects were also approved during the meeting, aimed at improving connectivity and development across districts.

These projects are part of the government’s broader push to strengthen roads, rural infrastructure, and essential public services.

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet meeting highlighted a balanced development approach, combining women empowerment programmes, agricultural support, infrastructure expansion, and rural welfare initiatives. With enhanced focus on farming profitability, nutrition, and social inclusion, the state government reiterated its commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
