Chandigarh: The Haryana government has undertaken a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 20 senior IAS officers and assigning additional responsibilities to several key bureaucrats. The move, aimed at strengthening governance and improving administrative efficiency, comes less than two weeks after the previous reshuffle on November 22.
Key Officers Given New Roles
Among the senior officers transferred, notable changes include –
1992 batch IAS officer Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Urban Local Bodies Department.
2001 batch IAS officer Vijay Kumar Dahiya will hold additional charge as Commissioner/Secretary of Sports Department, in addition to his current role in the Animal Husbandry Department.
2003 batch IAS officer Amit Kumar Agarwal has been assigned additional charge as Commissioner/Secretary in Heritage and Tourism Department, alongside his current post in Information, Public Relations, and Culture Department.
Other Significant Transfers
Several other senior officers have also been shifted to crucial positions –
- Phool Chand Meena, an IAS officer of 2004 batch and Commissioner and Secretary, Human Resources, now holds additional charge as CEO, GMDA.
- J Ganesan, Director General, Housing for All & CEO, Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, has been given additional charge as MD, HARTRON, and MD, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam.
- Ashok Kumar Meena, Director General, Development & Panchayats, is now posted as Director General, Urban Local Bodies and Director General, Foreign Cooperation.
- Pankaj, Director General, Supplies & Disposals, will also serve as Secretary, Personnel, Training & Parliamentary Affairs, and Inquiry Officer, Vigilance.
- Pardeep Kumar, Member Secretary, Haryana State Pollution Control Board, is posted as Director, State Transport.
- Parth Gupta, DC, Yamunanagar, is now Director, Sports, and MD, Haryana Tourism Corporation.
- Sangeeta Tetarwal, CEO, Ayushman Bharat Haryana Health Protection Authority, is posted as Director, New and Renewable Energy.
- Anish Yadav, DC, Hisar, is posted as Director, Development & Panchayats, while Mahender Pal, MD, HARTRON, is now DC, Hisar.
- Vikram Yadav, Faridabad DC, is posted as MD, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited.
- Ayush Sinha is posted as DC, Faridabad.
- Pradeep Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nuh, is appointed Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Manesar.
- Preeti, DC, Kaithal, is posted as DC, Yamunanagar.
- Aparajita, Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), is posted as DC, Kaithal.
Objective of the Reshuffle
This reshuffle reflects the Haryana government’s focus on –
- Strengthening administrative efficiency across departments.
- Assigning key responsibilities to officers with proven track records.
- Ensuring continuity and accountability in governance, especially in crucial sectors like urban development, sports, tourism, and public services.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that these postings and additional responsibilities are intended to bolster the state’s governance system and improve service delivery to citizens.
