Chandigarh: In a fresh administrative exercise aimed at strengthening policing and field-level supervision across important districts, Haryana Police on Monday transferred nine IPS officers with immediate effect, assigning them to key operational, district and headquarters-level responsibilities.
The reshuffle covers officers from the 2013, 2015 and 2017 batches of the Indian Police Service and includes appointments in district policing, CID, security, traffic management and Raj Bhavan-linked responsibilities. The transfer orders are seen as part of an ongoing administrative balancing exercise to streamline policing functions across the state.
Himanshu Garg Given Additional Headquarters Responsibility
Among the prominent changes, Himanshu Garg, a 2013-batch IPS officer currently serving as Assistant Inspector General (Administration), has been entrusted with an additional responsibility. Along with his present assignment, he will now also hold the charge of AIG Provisioning.

This move places him in a dual administrative role at police headquarters, where provisioning responsibilities involve oversight of logistics, resource allocation, equipment management and support systems critical to police functioning.
2015 Batch Officers Posted to Kurukshetra and Hansi
From the 2015 batch, Chander Mohan has been appointed Superintendent of Police of Kurukshetra, a district that remains administratively significant due to its religious, educational and tourism importance.
His batchmate Vinod Kumar has been posted as Superintendent of Police of Hansi. Hansi, located in Hisar district region, continues to be an important policing zone because of its expanding urban-rural interface and strategic location.
The posting of both officers is expected to bring fresh district-level leadership in two key areas of Haryana’s policing framework.
Nitish Aggarwal Assigned Raj Bhavan and Lokayukta Responsibilities
A notable appointment in the reshuffle is that of Nitish Aggarwal, a 2017-batch IPS officer, who has been named Additional Deputy Commissioner to the Governor.
In addition to his Raj Bhavan-linked assignment, he will continue to hold additional charge as Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta. The dual assignment places him in an important institutional role involving both gubernatorial coordination and vigilance-related policing responsibilities.
CID Sees Key Changes With Upasana and Amit Yashvardhan Postings
Among other changes, Upasana, who was serving as SP Kaithal, has now been transferred as SP CID. Her posting to the Criminal Investigation Department places her in a sensitive intelligence and investigative role.
At the same time, Amit Yashvardhan has been posted as SP Security in CID, where he will oversee security-related assignments under the intelligence wing.
These changes are significant because CID assignments often involve specialised investigations, internal security coordination and intelligence management.
District and Commissionerate-Level Field Changes
The reshuffle also includes movement at commissionerate and district policing levels.
- Shubham Singh has been appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jhajjar, taking charge in an area witnessing steady administrative and urban policing demands.
- Manpreet Singh Sudan has been named the new Superintendent of Police of Kaithal, replacing Upasana after her transfer to CID.
- Meanwhile, Amrinder Singh has been posted as DCP, Crime and Traffic, Panchkula, a crucial urban policing assignment involving crime supervision and traffic management in one of Haryana’s major urban centres.
Part of Continuing Administrative Fine-Tuning
The latest transfers reflect Haryana’s continuing administrative fine-tuning within the police department, where officers are rotated periodically based on operational requirements, field exposure and institutional needs.
Such reshuffles are often aimed at strengthening district command structures, improving coordination across headquarters and field units, and ensuring experienced officers are deployed in strategically important assignments.
With these immediate-effect orders, several districts and specialised wings of Haryana Police are expected to witness leadership transition over the coming days.
