The Himachal Pradesh government has issued a series of transfer and posting orders for officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), and Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS), effective immediately. The orders, released by the Department of Personnel, reflect the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline governance and administrative efficiency.
IPS Officer Appointment
Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, IPS (HP:2012), has been appointed Managing Director of MILKFED, Himachal Pradesh.
His services were placed at the disposal of the department for this posting.
He replaces Rajesh Sharma, IFS (HP:2000), who had been holding additional charge while serving as State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha.
IAS Officer Transfers
Abhishek Jain, IAS (HP:2002), currently serving as Advisor (Regulatory Reforms) in New Delhi, as well as Secretary (Finance, Planning, Economics & Statistics) and 20-Point Programme & JSV holder, has been given the additional charge of Secretary (Technical Education) by the Governor’s directive.
Sandeep Kumar, IAS (2010), formerly Settlement Officer for Kangra Division, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner of Kangra Division, with headquarters in Dharmshala.
HPAS Officer Changes
Jas Pal, HPAS (2024), Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) in Shillai, Sirmaur district, has been given additional charge of SDO (Civil) at Kafota.
Jagdeep Singh, HPAS (2025), previously awaiting posting, has been instructed to report to the Department of Personnel for further assignment.
Om Prakash, HPAS (2025), has been appointed Joint Director of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba.
This replaces the earlier posting of Raman Gharsa, HPAS (2017), whose appointment as Additional Director on January 27, 2026, was revoked.
Naresh Kumar Verma, HPAS (2014), has been transferred from Additional Director, Technical Education, Sundernagar (Mandi), to Executive Director of HRTC, Shimla.
He replaces Dr. Bhuvan Sharma, HPAS (2018), who held additional charge as Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Shimla.

The latest reshuffle reflects the Himachal Pradesh government’s effort to optimize administrative efficiency by placing officers in positions that match their experience and expertise.
