Three IPS officers of Himachal will be honoured with Road Safety Awards for successfully bringing down number of road accidents. A ceremony was held on 25th April where IPS officers Sakshi Verma, ASP Raman Kumar Meena and SP Arjit Sen Thakur along with 65 others were awarded.
Due to their efforts, the state saw major decline in accident cases. In 2022, while 2597 accident case and 1023 deaths were recorded the number came down to 2023 only 2253 such cases happened which led to 889 deaths.
Mr. Thakur has been honoured with this award for his work as SP of Una. He shared this news from his X profile and wrote, “Tech based enforcement combined with interdepartmental cooperation helped the team achieve this remarkable feat. This Road Safety Award is an recognition to the hard work of police personnel of District Una and their unwavering commitment to save precious lives.”
