THDC India (THDCIL) Awarded ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Certification by BIS – Details Inside

Rishikesh: In a major boost to its commitment toward ethical business practices, THDC India Limited (THDCIL) has been awarded the prestigious IS/ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The certification applies to its Corporate Office in Rishikesh and NCR Office in Kaushambi, underscoring the organization’s continued emphasis on integrity, transparency, and good governance.

CMD R.K. Vishnoi: A Milestone in Transparency and Corporate Ethics

Congratulating the THDCIL team on this significant achievement, Mr R.K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, emphasized that the ABMS certification reinforces stakeholder trust and strengthens the company’s international reputation.

“This certification enhances our competitiveness in today’s evolving business landscape and sets a benchmark in ethical conduct. It reflects our alignment with national priorities and global best practices,” he stated.

CVO Rashmita Jha: Testament to Ethical Governance

Ms. Rashmita Jha (IRS), Chief Vigilance Officer, noted that the certification is a recognition of THDCIL’s proactive efforts to institutionalize ethical practices at every level. She highlighted that ABMS not only aids in preventing bribery but also promotes sustainable development through ethical decision-making.

Ceremonial Presentation of Certificate

The certification was first formally handed over to Ms. Rashmita Jha by BIS officials on August 18, 2025, at a ceremony held at the NCR Office, Kaushambi. The event was attended by:

  • Mr Neeraj Verma, Executive Director
  • Mr Satish Kumar Arya, Deputy CVO and GM (Vigilance)

Later, the certificate was ceremoniously presented to CMD R.K. Vishnoi at the Corporate Office, Rishikesh by Mr Arya, in the presence of:

  • Mr S. S. Panwar, CGM (OMS)
  • Senior officers from the Vigilance and OMS Departments

About ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management System

The ISO 37001:2016 ABMS is a globally recognized certification that enables organizations to establish, implement, maintain, and enhance anti-bribery compliance programs. It helps detect and respond to bribery risks and reinforces a culture of integrity and accountability.

For THDCIL, the certification is more than a symbol of compliance – it is a commitment to transparent governance that will further attract ethical investors, partners, and clients in the power sector. The organization, a joint venture between NTPC Ltd and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, has been setting benchmarks in operational excellence and now, in ethical governance as well.

It was established in July 1988 as a public limited company under the Companies Act, 1956, to develop, operate, and maintain the Tehri Hydro Power Complex.
