New Delhi: HUDCO, NBCC Ink MoUs to Boost Urban Redevelopment and Infrastructure
In a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and redevelopment initiatives, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) and NBCC (India) Limited (NBCC) have signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to collaborate on redevelopment projects and asset monetization.
The agreements aim to combine financial and execution capabilities of both Navratna public sector undertakings to fast-track urban development projects across the country.
MoUs Signed by Senior Leadership
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Sanjay Kulshrestha, Chairman & Managing Director of HUDCO, and K P Mahadevaswamy, Chairman & Managing Director of NBCC.
The agreements were formally executed by:
- Radha Roy, Executive Director, HUDCO
- Bhushan Kumar, Executive Director (Business Development), HUDCO
- Pradeep Sharma, Executive Director (Business Development), NBCC
Senior officials and functional directors from both organisations were also present during the signing ceremony.
Focus on Redevelopment and Funding Support
One of the key MoUs focuses on the redevelopment of a leasehold plot at August Kranti Bhawan, located in Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi.
The second agreement involves HUDCO providing financial support for NBCC’s ongoing and upcoming projects under its self-sustainable business model, based on mutually agreed terms and conditions.
Two-Year Collaboration Plan
Under the partnership, HUDCO and NBCC will collaborate over the next two years in several critical areas, including:
- Techno-economic feasibility studies
- Construction and project management
- Monetization of built-up spaces
The collaboration is expected to streamline project execution while ensuring financial viability and efficient utilization of urban assets.
Synergy of Financial Strength and Execution Expertise
Officials said the partnership brings together HUDCO’s strong financial base with NBCC’s proven expertise in construction and project execution.
The synergy is expected to:
- Accelerate urban redevelopment projects
- Improve infrastructure delivery
- Enhance asset monetization strategies

The collaboration between the two Navratna PSUs is expected to significantly contribute to India’s urban infrastructure growth.
