New Delhi: Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has taken a significant step toward community development by signing two key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at improving healthcare access and modern education infrastructure in rural and underserved areas of India. The agreements underscore HURL’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable community development.
Project “AAROGYA MITRA” – Enhancing Rural Healthcare Access
In collaboration with Manav Vikas Sanstha (MVS), India, HURL launched Project “AAROGYA MITRA”, a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to strengthen healthcare access across rural regions. The MoU signing was attended by Dr. S. P. Mohanty, Managing Director of HURL, alongside representatives from MVS.
Under this initiative, AI-enabled Health ATM Machines will be installed at select Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and government hospitals across Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Barauni (Bihar), and Sindri (Jharkhand). These digital diagnostic platforms will enable:
- Instant health check-ups
- Creation of digital health records
- Early detection of diseases and health conditions
The project is expected to benefit over 76,000 individuals annually, offering these services free of cost. Through AAROGYA MITRA, HURL aims to build resilient public health infrastructure, promote preventive healthcare, and improve overall community well-being.
Project “PRAYAS” – Empowering Youth through Innovation-Led Education
In a separate MoU signed with EdCIL India Limited, HURL announced Project “PRAYAS (Pragatisheel Yug Aadhunik Shiksha)”, a forward-looking CSR initiative focused on modernizing education in government schools.
The project will implement:
- ATAL Tinkering Labs for hands-on STEM learning
- Virtual Reality Labs to enhance experiential education
- Solar-Powered Smart Classrooms to promote sustainable learning
These initiatives will be rolled out across nine government schools in Gorakhpur, Sindri (Dhanbad), and Barauni (Begusarai), offering students and teachers access to advanced technology and fostering creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. HURL’s PRAYAS project emphasizes education-led empowerment, sustainability, and preparation of students for future-ready careers.
Commitment to Holistic Community Development
Together, AAROGYA MITRA and PRAYAS reflect HURL’s holistic CSR approach, focusing on building healthy communities and nurturing empowered, innovative generations. Through these initiatives, HURL aims to create long-term social impact while strengthening its engagement with local communities.
