New Delhi – Runul Pratap, an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), 2014 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India. His appointment is under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Previously Served in Senior Role in Haryana Audit Office
Before this appointment, Mr. Pratap served as Senior Deputy Accountant General in the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Haryana, based in Chandigarh. He was in charge of Audit Management Groups (AMG)-III and AMG-V, along with administrative duties.
Relieved of Current Duties to Join New Role in Delhi
The officer has been relieved of his current responsibilities immediately and has been directed to assume his new position at the DFPD in New Delhi. His name was recommended for Central deputation by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
Strategic Role in a Key Ministry
The Department of Food & Public Distribution plays a vital role in ensuring national food security, managing the Public Distribution System (PDS), and regulating food grain policies. As Deputy Secretary, Mr. Pratap will contribute to policy implementation, program oversight, and strengthening delivery systems at the central level.
