2012 batch IAS officer Amit Kumar of Bihar cadre has been appointed as Private Secretary to Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways for five years.
Mr. Sonowal will assume the charge of the post at the Deputy Secretary level.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Kumar to the post for five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Ministry or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
2007 batch IRS-IT officer Mahesh Gopinath Jiwade has been appointed as Private Secretary to Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy for five years.
Mr. Jiwade’s appointment as PS especially pertains to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. He will assume charge of the post at the director level.
