IAS Ashima Brar Gets Additional Charge Of Karnal District

Amidst a recent development, the government of Haryana mandated Ms. Ashima Brar (2004-batch IAS officer), who presently holds charge of Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director General, Secretary of Social Justice Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, and Antyodaya (SEWA) Department, to take new charge of the administration of the Karnal district.

In her new role, Officer Brar is expected to monitor crime rates and vigilance issues under relevant portions of the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988, and the effectiveness of service delivery mechanisms provided in the Right to Service Act. She is also tasked to evaluate the operational characteristics of the health, education, and social sectors, as well as address the issues faced by the District Excise and Taxation Commissioner about GST and other levies.
