New Delhi: The IAS Central Association has announced the formation of its newly elected 18-member Executive Committee, following its General Body Meeting held in New Delhi on July 26, 2025. Senior bureaucrat S Krishnan (Tamil Nadu cadre, 1989 batch) has been unanimously elected as President, in line with the association’s tradition of selecting the most senior serving Union Secretary—excluding the Cabinet Secretary—for the top role.
Among the notable names on the committee is Shah Faesal (UT cadre, 2010), the first IAS topper from Jammu & Kashmir and a former policymaker who had briefly exited civil service before returning in 2022.

In his address, President S Krishnan called upon the IAS community to actively demonstrate its value in public service by emphasizing collaborative engagement, ethical leadership, and institutional development. He stressed the importance of mentoring younger officers, building public trust, and highlighting governance successes through digital platforms.
“The strength of the IAS lies not just in its institutional role, but in its people—who must work with presence, purpose, and unity,” Krishnan said.
He also encouraged greater synergy between the Central Association and state-level IAS associations to create a more cohesive and responsive administrative ecosystem.
