Lucknow: In a sweeping administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 66 Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers on Sunday night, marking one of the most significant reshuffles in recent months. Over 60 of these transferred officers are Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), indicating a focused realignment at the sub-district level across the state.

Departments Affected: Revenue, Urban Bodies, Consolidation

The transfers spanned several departments, including the Revenue Department, Urban Local Bodies, and the Consolidation Department, with fresh appointments aimed at improving governance, streamlining field operations, and enhancing accountability.

Key Transfers: Agra, Kanpur Dehat, Varanasi

Shraddha Pandey, who was serving as SDM Agra, has now been appointed as Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Agra.

Praduman Kumar has been transferred from Kanpur Dehat to become SDM, Shravasti.

Nisha Srivastava, earlier posted in Gorakhpur, is now Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Varanasi Municipal Corporation.

Ravi Kumar Singh has been appointed as SDM in UPDA (Uttar Pradesh Development Authority), Lucknow.

Other officers like Vikas Singh, Virag Karvariya, Brij Mohan Shukla, and Prachi Tripathi have also been assigned important roles in Lucknow’s municipal and development departments.

Focus on Lucknow: Multiple High-Level Appointments

Lucknow, the state capital, has seen a considerable number of strategic postings, reinforcing its administrative importance

Rameshwar Prasad becomes Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Lucknow.

Satyapal Singh is now Assistant Director, Directorate of Local Bodies.

Ajay Kumar has been appointed Settlement Officer (Consolidation).

Shashi Kumar joins as Special Executive Officer, Relief Commissioner Office.

Virag Karvariya assumes the role of SDM, Lucknow Development Authority.

Prachi Tripathi becomes Special Executive Officer, Revenue Council Lucknow.

Ayodhya and Other Districts: New SDMs Take Charge

Lakhan Lal Singh Rajput, Santosh Kumar Kushwaha, and Purnima Singh have been posted as SDMs in Ayodhya.

Gyan Pratap Singh is also taking charge as SDM, Ayodhya.

Monalisa Johri has been posted as SDM in Bahraich.

Late-Night Transfers of 12 More PCS Officers

In addition to the initial 66 transfers, the state government issued another order around 1:00 AM on Sunday night, transferring 12 more PCS officers. Notably, 63 out of the 66 officers transferred earlier were recently promoted from the Tehsildar cadre to PCS.

Out of these, seven officers have been appointed as SDMs in the very districts where they previously served as Tehsildars, potentially ensuring continuity in local governance.
