In a significant development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the selection of three officers for key positions in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The appointments include two IAS officers and one IRS officer, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening its administrative framework.
Deepak Virmani (IAS: 2011: AGMUT) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of four years. Kirti Garg (IAS: 2013: AGMUT) has also been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the same ministry, serving alongside Virmani for the same duration.
In addition, Govind Kumar Garg (IRS-IT: 2009) has been designated as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with a tenure of five years.
These appointments are expected to enhance the operational efficiency and governance capabilities of the Ministry, addressing key issues in national security and internal affairs.
