New Delhi: The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Friday issued notifications regarding new appointments of senior civil servants: Garima Yadav (IAS: 2014, UP cadre) and Pinky Sawariya (ISS: 2012) have been assigned to prominent central government roles for fixed tenures.
Garima Yadav Appointed Dy Secy, Dept of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances
Ms Yadav, an IAS officer of the 2014 Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances. Her tenure is for four years, up to April 30, 2030.
Career Background: Born on March 4, 1970, Yadav has previously served as Additional Director at the Academy of Administration and Management, Lucknow. She brings extensive administrative experience to her new central deputation assignment.
Pinky Sawariya Appointed Deputy Secretary, Central Information Commission; Future Promotion to Joint Secretary
Ms Sawariya, an Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer, 2012 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Central Information Commission (CIC), New Delhi, for a period of four years.
Future Promotion: As per the order, she will subsequently be appointed as Joint Secretary (Director-level) in the CIC, effective January 1, 2026, for a tenure of five years or until further orders.
Educational Background: Holds a Master’s degree in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI, 2009–2011).
Professional Experience –
- Assistant Director, Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D), Ministry of Commerce & Industry (May 2014 onward)
- Early probationary tenure with Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (Nov 2012 – Apr 2014)
- Former Assistant Professor, University of Delhi
Immediate Relieving: Sawariya has been directed to be relieved from her present duties immediately to assume the new role in CIC.
