2013-batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, Mr. Jafar Malik, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs on a lateral shift basis. This appointment results in the curtailment of his tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (February 24, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Mr. Malik’s new role. His tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until September 2, 2028, the remaining period of his four-year Central deputation at the Deputy Secretary level under the Central Staffing Scheme, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
