Sivasagar: IAS officer K N Chandana Jahnavi of the 2024 batch (Assam-Meghalaya cadre) has been appointed as Assistant Commissioner in Sivasagar district, Assam, as part of her district training.
The posting comes following the completion of Phase-I of the IAS Professional Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie. As part of the structured training process, the young officer will undergo hands-on administrative experience at the district level.
Ms Jahnavi originally hails from Hyderabad, Telangana. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from BIT Mesra and an MBA from IIM Indore.
She secured All India Rank 50 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. Before joining the IAS, she also worked with Deloitte India (US offices) as a Solution Advisor, focusing on Regulatory and Operational Risk for 1 year and 3 months.
Jahnavi’s posting marks the beginning of her field-level journey in the Indian Administrative Service, where she will work closely with the district administration to understand ground realities and governance mechanisms.
