In a recent administrative development, Kausar Jamil Hilaly, an IAS officer (Retd), has been entrusted with an additional responsibility as the Special Secretary for the Social Justice & Empowerment Department.
Hilaly, who currently serves as the Special Secretary for the Sports & Youth Welfare Department and Secretary of the Assam Right to Public Service Commission, will now also function as the ex-officio Chairperson of the State Level Scrutiny Committee. This committee is tasked with scrutinizing fake caste certificates for the SC, OBC, and MOBC communities in the state.
In another significant development, Rajesh Arya, an IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre (1994), has been promoted to the Director General of Police (DGP) pay scale, the highest pay scale in the Indian Police Service. Arya, who is currently serving as the Chairman of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), has been elevated from the Additional Director General of Police pay scale to the Director General of Police pay scale (Level 16 in the Pay Matrix).
This promotion reflects Arya’s exemplary service and contribution to national security and intelligence. His leadership at the NTRO has been pivotal in strengthening the technical capabilities of India’s national security apparatus.
Both these administrative changes signify the state’s commitment to enhancing governance efficiency and security, with both officers now playing critical roles in their respective domains.
