Bengaluru: 2005 batch senior IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, Mr KG Jagadeesha, who has been serving as the Secretary of the Coffee Board in Bengaluru, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre in Karnataka. This decision was made following an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his repatriation, which includes an extended cooling-off period.
As a result of this development, M Muthukumar (IAS: 2008: OD), the Executive Director of the Tea Board in Coonoor, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary of the Coffee Board in Bengaluru. Muthukumar will hold this responsibility for a period of six months, during which time he is expected to manage the affairs of the Coffee Board.
The Coffee Board of India (CBoI) is an autonomous organisation managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India to promote coffee production in India.
This change comes as part of ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at streamlining operations within key boards overseeing agricultural sectors.
