Guwahati/Kolkata: In recent administrative reshuffles, two prominent IAS officers have been assigned new roles in Assam and West Bengal.
M.S. Manivannan, IAS (Assam-Meghalaya 2005), who is currently serving as the Commissioner & Secretary of the Personnel Department in Assam, has been given additional responsibilities. He has now been appointed as the Commissioner & Secretary of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Assam. This move is expected to strengthen the governance and development initiatives in the sector.
Meanwhile, in West Bengal, Avneet Punia, IAS (West Bengal 2017), who was serving as the Additional District Magistrate of Jhargram, has been transferred to a new role. She has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Secretary and will also serve as Under Secretary in the Home and Hill Affairs Department, as well as the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P & AR) Department, West Bengal.
