Amidst a recent development, a senior IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh, Mr. A M Imtiaz (2009 batch), opted for a golden handshake from bureaucracy. Reports suggest that he may join politics.
The YSRCP government of Andhra Pradesh accepted Mr. Imtiaz’s VRS request without making a fuss, fueling rumors that he may join YSRCP to contest the state legislative assembly elections from his hometown Kurnool.
In his more than a decade-long stint with the bureaucracy, Mr. Imtiaz had served as a secretary to the minority affairs department, commissioner of SERP, and district collector of Krishna. Mr. Imtiaz was incumbent as the additional chief commissioner of land administration before hanging up his gloves in the IAS.
