Amidst a recent development, a senior IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh, Mr. A M Imtiaz (2009 batch), opted for a golden handshake from bureaucracy. Reports suggest that he may join politics.
The YSRCP government of Andhra Pradesh accepted Mr. Imtiaz’s VRS request without making a fuss, fueling rumors that he may join YSRCP to contest the state legislative assembly elections from his hometown Kurnool.
In his more than a decade-long stint with the bureaucracy, Mr. Imtiaz had served as a secretary to the minority affairs department, commissioner of SERP, and district collector of Krishna.
