2009 batch IAS officer of Assam Meghalaya cadre, Ms. Varnali Deka, who is posted as DC Nalbari, Assam, has won two national awards from Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, for her work in ODOP Mushroom and Education sectors in Kokrajhar under Awarding Innovations in Public Services.
On 19 January, CM of Meghalaya, Mr. Conrad K Sangma, awarded her both the awards at Taj Vivanta Shillong. The awards have memento and a cash component of Rs. 2 lakh.
Ms. Deka also participated as a panelist in two sessions – Education, Environment and Rural Development – in the event.
Many of her initiatives have also been published in a Coffee Table Book named ‘Celebrating Inclusive Innovations’. This book was also launched by the CM in the event.
