The Election Commission of India has assigned two IAS officers from the Bihar cadre to serve as General Observers in the Chhattisgarh and Mizoram Assembly Elections. During their election duties, both officials’ responsibilities will be temporarily delegated to two other IAS officers.
- Narmdeshwar Lal (IAS:1998:BH), who serves as the Principal Secretary in the Sugarcane Industry Department in Patna, has been appointed as the General Observer for the Chhattisgarh Assembly election.
- Giriwar Dayal Singh (IAS:2008:BH), holding the position of Sugarcane Commissioner in Patna, has been designated as the General Observer for the Mizoram Assembly election.
