Delhi: In a major administrative reshuffle aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the Delhi Police, the Delhi Government issued transfer and posting orders for 12 IPS officers and 6 DANIPS officers on Wednesday. The move affects key leadership roles across multiple wings of the police force, including the Security, New Delhi, Northern, Transport, and Vigilance ranges, among others.

This comprehensive overhaul includes changes in the positions of four Joint Commissioners of Police (Joint CPs), three Additional Commissioners of Police (Addl. CPs), and several Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs).

Key Transfers Among Joint Commissioners of Police

Mahendra Nath Tiwari (IPS:2004:AGMUT) has been transferred from Joint CP, Security to Joint CP, New Delhi Range.

Vijay Singh (IPS:2005:AGMUT) has been posted as Joint CP, Northern Range, after serving as Joint CP, Transport Range.

Dumbere Milind Mahadeo (IPS:2006:AGMUT) now takes charge as Joint CP, Transport Range.

Aslam Khan (IPS:2007:AGMUT) has been moved from Joint CP, Vigilance to Joint CP, Security.

Deepak Purohit (IPS:2007:AGMUT) has been transferred from Joint CP, New Delhi Range to Joint CP, Security (PM).

Significant Moves Among Additional CPs and Special Assignments

Rajiv Ranjan Singh (IPS:2010:AGMUT), previously Addl. CP, Northern Range, is now appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

Guguloth Amrutha (IPS:2011:AGMUT) has been shifted from Addl. CP, Economic Offence Wing (EOW) to Addl. CP, Vigilance.

Mohd. Akhtar Rizvi (IPS:2011:AGMUT) moves from Addl. CP, Vigilance to Addl. CP, PCR.

Deputy Commissioners of Police: Restructuring Across Units

Sharad Bhaskar Darade (IPS:2013:AGMUT) has been appointed as DCP, West District, replacing:

Vichitra Veer (IPS:2013:AGMUT), who moves to DCP, IGI Airport.

Mohd Irshad Haider (IPS:2013:AGMUT) is the new DCP, EOW.

Jitendra Mani (IPS:2016:AGMUT) has been transferred from Deputy Director, Delhi Police Academy, to DCP, Supreme Court Security.

Vikram K Porwal (IPS:2016:AGMUT), earlier DCP, EOW, now takes charge as DCP, Traffic.

DANIPS Officers Also Reassigned

Krishan Kumar (DANIPS:2008) moves from DCP, 4th Bn., DAP to DCP, Special Cell.

Pankaj Kumar (DANIPS:2009), formerly DCP, PCR, becomes DCP, Crime.

Pawan Kumar (DANIPS:2009) is transferred from DCP, Supreme Court Security to DCP, PCR.

Dheerendra Pratap Singh (DANIPS:2010) is appointed DCP, 4th Bn., DAP, moving from DCP, Traffic.

Subodh Kumar Goswami (DANIPS:2010) also from DCP, Traffic, has been posted as DCP, EOW.

Objective Behind the Reshuffle

While no official statement has been made regarding the specific reasons for the reshuffle, sources indicate that the move is part of a routine administrative overhaul to enhance departmental efficiency, address local law and order challenges, and align strategic leadership with current policing needs in the national capital.

The reshuffle reflects a focus on specialized domains such as economic offenses, security for high-profile locations, and traffic management, as well as efforts to strengthen vigilance and internal oversight within the force.
