On February 27th, the Union government promoted two DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Lakshadweep, Dadra, Nicobar Island, Lakshadweep, and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Civil Service) cadre bureaucrats from the 1995 batch into the IAS.
Neeraj Bharti and T Philip Thanglienmanq, who is set to retire in two days, were recruited against five vacancies at the centre. The promotion of these two bureaucrats had been pending since 2021. As per official numbers, there are a total of 20 vacancies from years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, and the two officers mentioned above were promoted.
