The central deputation tenure of Mr. Santosh Kumar Yadav, a 1995-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, as Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has been extended for two years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on January 31, 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his tenure extension beyond February 17, 2025, up to February 17, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Mr. Yadav has been instrumental in strengthening India’s highway infrastructure, overseeing major road development projects, and driving policy initiatives to enhance connectivity and logistics efficiency across the country. His extended tenure is expected to provide continuity in infrastructure expansion and modernization efforts under NHAI.
