The Chandigarh administration has recently mandated IAS Vinay Pratap Singh to take up additional charge of the post of Municipal Corporation Commissioner of Chandigarh. Officer Singh, a 2011-batch Haryana cadre IAS officer, was last posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh and had earlier served as the District Collector of Chandigarh.
Mr. Singh replaced Ms. Anindita Mitra, a 2007-batch IAS officer, from the post of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner after she completed her three-year tenure. All of Ms. Anindita Mitra’s charges will be taken up by the Deputy Commissioner except that of the Chief Electoral Officer. “Separate orders regarding the charge of Chief Electoral Officer will be issued after the approval of the Election Commission of India,” the order from the Chandigarh (UT) Administration stated.
