2005 batch IAS officer Shravan Hardikar has been made the managing director of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, known as Maha Metro too, headquartered at Nagpur.
He is currently serving as Additional Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and will be replaced by Dr Nitin Karir, an IAS officer 1998 batch.
Mr. Hardikar has already once served as the municipal commissioner of Nagpur.
According to a note issued by additional chief secretary Nitin Gadre on Friday, Mr. Hardikar will now be shifted to Maha Metro.
The agency’s previous managing director Brijesh Dixit retired in May this year.
