2007 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, Sanket S Bhondve, has been promoted to the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent, at the Government of India. He belongs to Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune.
An official announcement regarding his empanellment was made by the ministry on June 11.
Mr Bhondve was currently posted as private secretary to the Minister of Road Transport and Highway. He held multiple important positions at the state level and in the central government in the past.
He has been awarded with 6 national level and 10 state level awards. He also got the President medal for three consecutive terms from former President Ramnath Kovind. He was also felicitated by the Prime Minister for providing rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities.
He worked with compassion among the poor, physically challenged, and for the welfare and well-being of pregnant women and children leading to reducing IMR, MMR, etc.
He also initiated the first ‘Model Day Care Centre for senior citizens named ‘Anand Ghar’ which was conceptualized and inaugurated in Ujjain during his tenure as District Collector.
Sanket Bhondve was also a pioneer in creating the concept and design of Divyang Anubhuti Park ‘ based on touch, smell and sound in Hoshangabad, MP.
He worked on the ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojana National Highways Project to improve the road connectivity in the country. This project envisaged development of 34,800 Km of national highway corridors, including 10,000 km of high speed corridors to enable seamless passenger and freight movement across the country.
