With immediate effect, the Ministry of Power (MoP) has nominated Shashank Misra, Joint Secretary, MoP, as Government Nominee Director on the Board of REC Limited.
Prior to joining the MoP, the Madhya Pradesh cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2007 batch worked in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He has also served as the Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited, Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation Limited, and Madhya Pradesh State Asset Management Company Limited, as well as the Chairman of Ujjain Smart City Limited and the CEO of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority.
Furthermore, on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company approved the appointment of Shashank Misra as Government Nominee Director of the Company, with effect from August 21, 2023 subject to shareholder approval, through a circulation resolution passed on August 23, 2023, and recommended the passing of the Ordinary Resolution as proposed at Item No. 10 of the AGM notice, by Shareholders of the Company, the REC.
According to the REC Limited, in light of the foregoing, it is proposed to obtain shareholder approval for the appointment of Shashank Misra as Government Nominee Director of the Company, by passing Ordinary Resolution as set out at Item No. 10 in Addendum to the notice of the Company’s 54th AGM, scheduled to be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at I I am via Video Conferencing/Other Audio Visual Means.
